UPDATE: Dayton Police Chief Richard Biehl said the man shot by a Dayton police officer has died.

Police were originally called to an incident at Camer and Anna. On their way there, the chief said, they saw a vehicle driving erratically. The officers tried to make a traffic stop just east of Brooklyn when a man inside the car got out and ran. The chief said there was a struggle and the man grabbed the officer's taser. That's when the officer shot him.

Officers provided first aid until medics could arrive. The man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police said a gun with an extended magazine as well as marijuana was recovered within the two-block radius of the scene.

Dayton Police Homicide Detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.

Chief Biehl said cruiser cam video of the traffic stop will be released Friday.
