Champaign Co. teen found guilty of killing father's girlfriend sentenced to 28 yrs to life

URBANA, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - A Champaign County teen found guilty in the shooting death of his father's girlfriend will spend at least the next 28 years in prison.

Donovan Nicholas was sentenced Tuesday to 28 years to life in the death of Heidi Taylor, 40.

Nicholas called 911 after the shooting, telling the dispatcher a person named "Jeff" lived inside of him and was responsible for the shooting that killed Taylor. Nicholas was 14 at the time of the shooting and his case was later moved to adult court.

He was diagnosed with Dissociative Personality Disorder but was found competent to stand trial.
